Index Exchange, Meta & TikTok among latest Gold Standard certified members

Patrick Hann, Ad Tech Manager at IAB UK, updates on Gold Standard uptake following the new additions in January 2025 and explains why support for the initiative is so crucial
At the start of this year, we updated the IAB Gold Standard in two significant ways. Firstly, we expanded the scope of the criteria so that it encompasses CTV and retail media companies for the first time via tailored specifications. Secondly, we added a sustainability pillar to the initiative to help limit carbon emissions in the supply chain, by addressing inefficient ad refresh rates and implementing bid floors to limit computational load.
So where are we six months on from the refresh?
I’m really happy to report that we’ve seen strong continued support for the Gold Standard among the digital ad industry, with new IAB members getting certified alongside many recertifications in 2025. A huge congratulations to everyone who has been certified in recent months, including Havas Media, Index Exchange, Meta, Rakuten, and TikTok.
Achieving Gold Standard certification means more than just ticking boxes - it is an affirmation of a company’s dedication to best practices across digital media. By getting behind the Gold Standard, these companies are raising the bar and showing how self-regulation can work - something that is more important than ever now that the Gold Standard is a core part of the Online Advertising Taskforce’s Action Plan.
And what’s next?
We’ll be continuing to champion the Gold Standard and encourage all eligible IAB members to get certified. Alongside this, we’ll also be helping agencies and advertisers to understand why working with Gold Standard certified suppliers matters - building out our network of Gold Standard advertising supporters.
If you’re not yet certified but would like to get in touch, don’t hesitate to get in touch with [email protected] and we can talk you through the process.
