The guidance aims to provide organisations with practical steps to help them determine whether they can rely on legitimate interests as a lawful ground for processing personal data under the GDPR, although it should not be construed as legal advice. It covers:
-
Understanding what Legitimate Interests are
-
Identifying areas of processing where Legitimate Interests may apply
-
The Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) – the 3-stage test
-
Transparency and the consumer
IAB UK actively contributed to the update to the guidance and is pleased to support its latest iteration. Members can contact christie@iabuk.com for further information.
