The new Facebook Creator app will make it easier for influencers to make videos, demonstrating how demand for this type of marketing has soared among brands.
Facebook has launched a new app that's specifically aimed at online influencers and enables them to make and share videos with their followers in an innovative new way.
The Facebook Creator app features the same camera function and effects tools as the social platform's current video offerings, with influencers able to use the Facebook Live feature to broadcast vlogs in real time.
It will also provide users with an inbox where they can receive messages from both their Facebook and Instagram followers, bringing the two sites together and creating more of a community feel around the new app.
Additionally, Facebook Creator users will receive insights on their video metrics, allowing them and the brands they are working with to see what type of content is proving most effective.
The app's launch indicates that Facebook is preparing to become a greater competitor to YouTube in terms of influencer content, attempting to position itself as an alternative to the established channels.
