Digital Upfronts returns IRL to help advertisers get ahead

Posted on Wednesday 06 July 2022 | IAB UK

Three weeks of in-person events will be taking place between 4 October - 3 November, with partners including Amazon Advertising, BBC News, Meta, Snap Inc., TikTok, Twitter and YouTube

Following two virtual years, Digital Upfronts returns in-person this year with a programme of events that will give advertisers and planners an exclusive first-look at the new launches and ad products that are set to define trends in 2023 and beyond.

With events spanning 4 October - 3 November, the industry is invited to join some of the biggest players in digital advertising - Amazon Advertising, BBC News, Meta, Snap Inc., TikTok, Twitter and YouTube - to hear about their newest opportunities for advertisers.

Upfronts will also give you a front row seat to hear about the latest insights coming out of our industry, not to mention the raft of top talent that will take to the stage. Last year’s agenda saw partners joined by Naomi Campbell, Tom Daley and Ed Sheeran, to name a few.

Also back for 2022, our channel specific Upfronts will be spotlighting the very latest in podcasting and gaming. Gaming Upfronts is taking place at Steel Yard on Tuesday 18 October with partners including Activision, Anzu.io, Bidstack, Frameplay and Twitch. They’ll be spotlighting the tools, tactics and talent that advertisers need to know about to authentically leverage in-game advertising.

Following this, Podcast Upfronts will be at the same venue on Wednesday 19 October, with Acast, Audioboom, Fresh Air Production, Global and Podfront debuting the new products and shows that are evolving in this fast-growing area.

Commenting on the return of Digital Upfronts, IAB UK’s CMO James Chandler said: “Digital Upfronts is all about celebrating the future of digital advertising and getting advertisers excited about what’s to come. It’s a three week festival where we get to see some of the best innovation taking place, the opportunities for advertisers that are changing how we can reach consumers, and the knock out talent that makes this industry such a brilliant place to work.

“The fact that we can once again host all this in person makes 2022 extra special. While virtual events have been great at keeping us all connected and in the loop over the past couple of years, there’s nothing like the energy of an in-person event and Upfronts thrives on that.”
