Brands can now add links to Instagram Stories

Instagram continues to grow its capabilities for brands.

The use of Instagram by brands is growing continuously, and this is only going to get bigger, as the image-sharing social network has now made it possible to add external links to Stories.

Instagram Stories is a feature that allows users to share videos and pictures with their friends that disappear after 24 hours. Since its launch in August, this has now grown to being used by more than 100 million people every day.

The ability to include a link in Stories will first be rolled out as a test to verified accounts, but if successful it will then be implemented on all accounts.

This extension to Stories comes as no surprise, since Instagram has grown so swiftly in 2016. The social network announced this week that its community in the UK alone has grown to more than 18 million monthly users this year, which is a 29 per cent increase.
