LinkedIn introduces sponsored carousel ads

LinkedIn has added to its advertising efforts with the introduction of sponsored carousel ads for brands.

Following its recent introduction of new video advertising features, LinkedIn has now announced the launch of sponsored carousel ads for brands using the professional social networking platform.

LinkedIn asked 300 advertisers whether they'd make use of a carousel feature, and 75 per cent said they would do so in their next campaign, recognising the increased engagement and click-through rates this type of marketing typically provides.

Brands will be able to create up to ten ads for the carousel feature, allowing them to share their promotional content further across the social platform.

In a blog announcing the rollout, LinkedIn explained carousel ads would help more brands to tell complete stories, and better capture their audience's attention.

Rohan Rajiv, product manager at LinkedIn, commented: "Carousel ads are interactive and have eye-catching visuals, they stand out in the newsfeed.

"Your stories become tangible and encourage your audience to engage with your brand on both desktop and mobile."
