Black Friday is lasting longer than ever

Brands are attempting to boost sales over Black Friday.

It was only about five years ago that the UK got on board with the US trend of Black Friday - the Friday after Thanksgiving where shops hold massive pre-Christmas sales. However, in that short amount of time, UK brands have taken this opportunity and run with it.

Now, we're seeing ads being put out earlier than ever, leaving many people confused about when Black Friday really is.

Black Friday will take place this week on the 25th, but you can already scoop up deals from many big retailers.

So what does this mean for the day itself? Well, if the ads are anything to go by, we can expect even bigger and better deals on Friday. However, we wouldn't want to miss out on 50 per cent off now.

Last year, around £2 billion was spent in shops and online in just 24 hours, so the extension of this event can only mean that even more will be spent by shoppers trying to get their hands on the best deals in the run up to Christmas.
