Featuring BBC News journalists Laura Kuenssberg and Jon Sopel, renowned US futurist Amy Webb, sector experts from the travel, consumer tech, finance, luxury and media industries, plus the BBC’s Director of Creative Diversity, June Sarpong, in conversation with the Director of News & Current Affairs, Fran Unsworth, discussing the BBC’s own reset.

Laura has been the BBC’s Political Editor since 2015, when she became the first woman and youngest journalist to take on the role; leading the corporation’s political coverage. She works across a wide range of BBC programmes; in particular, the 6 and 10 O’clock News and the Today programme. She present's Newscast along with Adam Fleming and Chris Mason. In 2019 She made two highly acclaimed documentaries for BBC 1 after the 2019 Election on the events leading up to the General Election and Brexit.
Laura’s work has been recognised, including Broadcaster of the Year and Journalist of the Year in 2016 for her coverage of the dramatic events of the EU Referendum. Laura received the Journalist of the Year award, jointly with Katya Adler, at the London Press Club Awards in April 2019.

Jon Sopel joined the BBC in 1983 as a reporter and producer. He served as chief political correspondent for BBC News before spending four years as the BBC's Paris correspondent. He has reported from across the globe including the Middle-East during the Israel-Lebanon war, the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Sri Lanka after the 2004 tsunami, New Orleans after hurricane Katrina, Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games and South Africa for the World Cup. He started presenting Global with Jon Sopel on BBC World News in 2012, before becoming the BBC’s North America Editor in 2014. Jon’s latest book, A Year at the Circus, Inside Trump’s White House, was published in 2019. He has an honorary doctorate from the University Of Southampton in the UK for his contribution to politics and broadcasting.

June joined the BBC in November 2019 as the Director of Creative Diversity. She is an internationally renowned broadcaster, writer and campaigner on diversity issues. She started her career as a DJ and presenter on MTV and Kiss FM and for ten years on Channel 4’s T4 youth strand. She has gone on to appear as a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women and now on Sky News’ The Pledge.
Since 2010, she has built a reputation as a leading campaigner on a wide range of diversity and inclusion issues. She is a passionate advocate for change in the workplace and a champion for greater representation throughout the media. She has written two books on diversity issues - Diversify (2017) and The Power of Women (2018) and co-founded the Women - Inspiration and Enterprise (WIE) Alliance in 2010, an international conference supporting female excellence and empowerment. She also co-founded the Decide Act Now (DNA) summit, promoting discussion and innovation.

Francesca Unsworth became Director, News and Current Affairs for the BBC in January 2018. She was previously Director of the BBC World Service Group, a post to which she was appointed in December 2014. In this role she led the BBC's Global news services - BBC World Service, BBC World News and BBC.com - as well as BBC Monitoring, and she chaired the BBC's international development charity, BBC Media Action.
She began her journalistic career in 1980 in BBC Local Radio, joining Radio 1's Newsbeat. She also spent some time as a network radio producer in Washington DC, and later joined Radio 4's The World At One and PM. Fran was appointed the BBC's Home News Editor and then, in 2001, Head of Political Programmes. In 2005 she became Head of Newsgathering, running one of the world's largest newsgathering operations with bureaux across the world.
