Hermes puts its delivery notifications in the cloud

Customers will be better able to track their delivery driver and upload a photo of their safe place with Hermes' new collaboration with IMImobile.

The delivery company Hermes is enlisting the help of cloud communications and software provider IMImobile to enhance its delivery notifications.

Everything from tracking a delivery and uploading a photo of a safe place to leave a parcel through to managing returns will be done through the IMIconnect platform.

Hermes has been rolling out a Digital Futures programme to use technology and innovation to improve the customer experience on a number of levels.

Chris Ashworth, chief information officer at the company, said: “We see technology as the biggest differentiator in our industry and digital transformation will be crucial to helping us stand out in a competitive landscape.”

Hermes was founded in Germany in 1972, but expanded to the UK in 2000 and has become one of the best-known couriers, delivering some 300 million parcels a year.
