Executive Channel Network, in partnership with GroupM OOH and CEBR, presents new findings showing that London office professionals contribute £40 billion in annual consumer spend
The landmark study, titled The £40 Billion Capital Spenders, was conducted in collaboration with GroupM OOH and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).
As the driving force of the UK economy, London’s office professionals are highly skilled, well-compensated, and actively engaged in both digital and in-person commerce throughout their day. The research explores their consumer behaviour not only during commutes but also within office environments and through traditional in-store purchases.
Key Findings Include:
- £40 billion in total annual consumer spending power from London office professionals
- £10.2 billion of this spend occurs via mobile commerce during commuting time
- £15.4 billion in mobile commerce spend takes place while professionals are in the office
- £14.2 billion is attributed to in-person spending, with leading categories including food (£2.8 billion), fashion and clothing (£2.6 billion) and hospitality (£2.3 billion)
