Jargon Buster

A technique where an AI model performs a task without being given any examples or task-specific training.

A marketer asks an AI tool to “summarise customer feedback into key themes” without providing examples, and the model produces a structured summary based on its general knowledge.

Zero-shot approaches allow advertisers to quickly use AI for new tasks without preparation, making it fast and efficient for ideation, analysis, and content generation.

Data that consumers voluntarily share with brands, such as preferences and feedback, which AI can analyse to deliver highly personalised ads.

A retailer collects zero-party data through a quiz where customers choose their style preferences, then uses that information to personalise product recommendations and ads.

Zero-party data enables highly personalised and relevant advertising while respecting user privacy, as it is shared willingly and with clear intent.
