This mainly teenager orientated site gives users the opportunity to share photos, music and blogs, to draw on members’ white boards and even produce applications.

Facebook
Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. Groups and applications can be set up to mix with your audiences.

Habbo
The world’s largest virtual hangout for teens where users can meet and make friends. Users are invited to design their own rooms, collect cool furniture and throw parties in the vast virtual environment.

Last.fm
Founded in 2002, Last.fm provides internet radio and a music community. It claims over 30 million active users based in more than 200 countries. The site can connect you to other people who like what you like, and allows users to recommend songs from their music collections.

MySpace

This site is like a gossip weekly magazine and has been named the number one celebrity website. The site covers all the up to date celebrity gossip with photos, videos, blogs and even has its own radio station.

UK Music
UKMusic.com is an upfront independent forum that brings people from the unsigned world of music together. The site is visited by over 400,000 unique individuals each month who come to talk about their tastes, how to put music together and how to find new band members.

World Reviewer
Is about holiday experiences. Taking a completely new look at how travel is presented online - start with what you want to do, rather than where you want to go, with experiences, rather than the products or services.

Charities for youth


Action for Children
This site is a voice for children that need help and advice. The site has a discussion board and a blog allowing the user to voice their opinions and worries to others going through the same issues.

Childline
This site tackles a range of problems some children face on a day-to-day basis. The site gives advice on abuse and safety, home and families, online safety, damaging yourself, sex and health, bullying and racism.

Talk to Frank
Talk to Frank provides an A to Z list of substances explaining their appearance, effects, health risks, the chances of getting hooked, and the basics of UK law. Via an MSN messenger drug users can ask the ‘Frank Bot’ any questions 24/7. There are also games such as ‘Spliff Pinball’ and an interactive cannabis game that explains all the dangers of the drug.

Includes TV listings, music and pictures, this site allows you to get up close and personal with your favorite celebrities. The site has a feature called iCarpet that allows people to upload films of themselves via YouTube posing questions they would like to ask celebrities - the presenters then take the video to the next showbiz event and the questions are answered.
