IAB Twitter guidelines for brands

The IAB unveils its 20 top tips for Twitter success.

The IAB's Twitter feed

The Government recently unveiled its first Twitter strategy document to encourage departments to get tweeting. Weighing in at a hefty 5,382 words it was the equivalent of more than 250 tweets.

In response we've produced some slightly more pithy advice of our own for brands looking to get the best out of Twitter – and we managed to keep the word count down to 307.

Over the course of this week, we'll be unveiling via Twitter our top 20 tips for microblogging success. Each tip will be formatted in a sub 140-character Twitter-friendly format.

We'll also be using the hashtag #iabtwitter to group the tips together, making it easier for IAB followers to keep up to date with the conversation.

At the end of the week (Friday 14th August) we'll be publishing the tips in full on our blog on Brand Republic and inviting you all to add your own thoughts on how to use Twitter effectively.

We’ll also be posting the finished list on the IAB website in a handy downloadable format for you to refer to whenever you’re unsure about what to do next on Twitter.
